Round and Round the Rotary Wheel

Josh's scholarship (Rotary Ambassadorial Scholarship) is from Rotary International. Receiving the scholarship requires students to make presentations to local Rotary clubs about their studies, career past/future, and the difference the scholarship has made in their lives.

So, both of us feel like we have been out on the Rotary circuit, meeting and greeting, getting to know some of the local folks, and (Josh) talking to them formally via the presentation and (both of us) informally over dinner and such. This must be what local politicians feel like: always meeting new people, fielding questions, defending their ideas and trying to be winsome, polite, thoughtful, and charming at the same time. It has been a lot of fun, but we're thankful it only took a few weeks, we're glad it's not lifestyle.

On the whole though, we had terrificaly gracious and kind hosts who accomodated us for dinner and asked great questions. Each club seemed very interested to pick our brains on politics in the U.S. and found it of interest that we'd both worked in the U.S. federal government.
