Lindsey's Grandpa Andre

When we were looking through some of the old Drouin family photos with French cousin Marie-Paule (during our visit to France), we came across some great photos.

This photo was taken in Brittany (on the northwest coast of France) outside the family's home, sometime in the 1920's. The young boy shielding his eyes from the sun (lower left) is Lindsey's French grandfather, "Grandpa Andre." He was raised in France and he and his brother were sent to England at the outbreak of WWII. After serving as a pilot in WWII, he later eventually settled in the United States.

Lindsey's great-grandfather is on the left in the glasses and hat. He and his wife served as part of the French resistance against the Nazis in WWII.
